Tile Roofing in North Wales

Clay and concrete tile roofs designed to weather North Wales winters.

Overview

Concrete and clay tile roofs are the workhorse of modern British housing — long-lasting, weather-tight and cost-effective. We install and re-cover pitched tile roofs to current building regs, in a range of profiles and colours to suit the property.

Benefits

  • Long service life at competitive cost
  • Wide range of profiles and colours
  • Excellent thermal performance
  • Compatible with solar and rooflights

Common problems

  • Cracked or slipped tiles from frost or impact
  • Ridge tiles loosening as bedding mortar fails
  • Failed valleys and flashing letting in water
  • Nail-fatigue on older concrete roofs

Repair or replace?

Ridge and hip tiles should be re-bedded (or dry-fixed) every 20–30 years. Loose tiles anywhere on the roof are worth attending to sooner rather than later — one becomes ten in a Welsh winter.

Frequently asked

Concrete or clay tiles — which is better?

Clay tiles last longer and hold colour better; concrete is cheaper up-front and available in more profiles. We'll advise on the best fit for your property and budget.
